Andrew Silverman named Simon Cowell as a co-respondent in his pending divorce case.
Silverman filed for divorce on the grounds of adultery, even though New York is a no-fault divorce state. Cowell may have to testify during the trial.
“It’s really a signal to the spouse who cheated that the wronged spouse is very angry and that it’s going to be a very nasty, scorched-earth, high-profile litigation,” divorce attorney Martha Cohen Stine told The New York Post .
Simon and Lauren met while they were on vacation in Barbados several years ago. Lauren introduced Simon to her husband, Andrew.
Simon was dating Terri Seymour at the time. The two couples went on several double-dates together. They continued going on double-dates when Simon was engaged to Mezhgan Hussainy.
Andrew and his family are understandably hurt and angry about the affair.
"It is an unbelievable story of betrayal. It is a sad story and a tragic story,” Andrew’s brother told the Post, the E Online reports.
