This week, the creative minds behind Sesame Street released a clip from their upcoming season parodying the hit show Sons of Anarchy. Wait, what? Yes, this actually happened. Jax, Clay, Tig and Bobby Elvis traded in their reaper jackets for the day to becomes the Sons of Poetry.
The clip features a modified version of the theme song and fairly accurate visual likenesses of the characters. The sketch opens up with a man trying to write a love poem to his lady friend (a fairly simple one at that), but when he can't find a word that rhymes with "blue," the Sons of Poetry come to the rescue. Throughout the clip, the Sons only speak in rhymes, even when only talking to each other. The girlfriend eventually gets fed up when the word the poet choses isn't "you" to close to the poem, so she hops on the bike with Jax and they all ride away.
The video received a favorable response from Sons creator Kurt Sutter, citing that he grew up with Bert & Ernie, and that he currently has a six year old who loves Elmo and Sesame Street.
Sons of Anarchy returns to FX on Tuesday, September 10 for it's sixth season.
