America’s (second) favorite little brit has landed a role a major movie.
Sophia Grace Brownlee, the ten-year-old, tutu wearing diva made famous by Ellen DeGeneres has landed her first movie role. She is set to play Little Red Riding Hood in the upcoming adaptation of 'Into the Woods'.
Disney is producing the film. It is being directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago) and will come out in December 2014 and according to People.
It was Sophia Grace and cousin/wingwoman, Rosie McClelland, rapping the words to Nicki Minaj’s song "Superbass" and eventually getting to meet Minaj on The Ellen Show, that made the two a youtube sensation in 2011. Since then they have acted as correspondents for The Ellen DeGeneres Show by interviewing stars at the Grammy Awards and accepted a Teen Choice Award onstage with Ellen in 2012.
If celebs are what Sophia Grace is interested in, then she landed the right role. The cast is rumored to be star studded. A list from The Huffington Post included Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt and Anna Kendrick.
This is Sophia Grace’s first movie, but she’s obviously no stranger to the camera. She previously had a role on the Nickelodeon show Sam and Cat. Out of YouTube and 'Into the Woods', to the spotlight Sophia Grace goes.
