The family of deceased South African model Reeva Steenkamp refuses to file a civil suit against Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius, who is accused of killing the model in February.

Pistorius is accused of premeditating the murder of Steenkamp, who was his former girlfriend, after a heated argument. However, Pistorius claims that he killed her on accident, thinking she was an intruder in his home. He blamed the mistake on his vulnerability as a double amputee.

Despite rumors suggesting that the family would press charges for emotional distress and monetary loss, Steenkamp's uncle and family spokesman, Kenny Oldwage, told The Daily Telegraph "there's nothing, no civil case, that I know of."

However, the family still wants justice for what was done to their daughter. Steenkamp's mother June told Mirror News that "He (Pistorius) still has his thoughts. He still has to answer for this."

Pistorius, who is currently out of jail on bail, will begin trial in March.
