This is the last episode of the season for Sullivan and Son. Sad, right?
This week, coming up quickly is another bar completion and not wanting to loose yet again, Jack takes the reigns from Steve and starts searching for the best singer at the bar to represent them in the competition.
The reason Sullivan and Son bar always loses because of two reasons…Owen and Carol. For every bar competition Owen and Carol sing a duet together. A good idea at first, right? Wrong. Every time there is a bar competition, Owen and Carol sing a dirty song and dance dirty for the competition.
Meanwhile, Ahmed and Roy are reminded by Ok Cha that it’s that time of the year where they have to pay their bar tabs. In an effort to not have to pay that much money, they start brainstorming ideas. One of them is getting Ok Cha drunk. Listening in, Susan tells them the only way to get them drunk is by spiking her kimchi.
Among the people who auditioned for a chance to represent the bar in the competition are Melanie and Hank. However, Hank and Melanie don’t impress Jack and after searching all afternoon, Jack found no one to represent them for the competition. Jack called Melanie the best singer of those who auditioned, which he called really depressing.
Then, a new guy, named Darrell (Charles Shaughnessy), walks into the bar. Carol sees him and asks Owen be her wingman. At first put off by how Owen was talking up his mother, Darrell starts talking to Carol, hitting it off right away.
Seeing how well they hit it off, Owen gets jealous, especially when Darrell and Carol start singing together and Jack asks them to represent Sullivan and Son bar in the upcoming bar competition. In his jealously, Owen runs away from home to the Sullivan and Son bar backroom.
After many hours of practice, its competition time. First up was Darrell and Carol; they scored very well and hopes were high until, a gay, partner duo from a rival bar started singing. Sadly, Darrell and Carol were out-scored by them. Before the competition, Owen signed up to sing a solo. Owen storms onto the stage, ready to sing his own version of Survive by Gloria Gaynor.
A now drunk Ok Cha gets onto the stage, amidst boos and jeers, to sing with him. Letting her hair down both literally and figuratively, Ok Cha really fires up the crowd. So much so that Owen and her scored a perfect 50 points, winning the competition for Sullivan and Son bar.
After the winner was announced, Owen apologizes to Darrell and his mother for how he acted and Roy and Ahmed try finally try to get Ok Cha to rip up their tabs. But even when she’s drunk and falling asleep, they’re no match for her.
Closing the season off right, Melanie shows off her real talent and walks up onto the stage in a closed Sullivan and Son bar. Melanie taps the microphone and asks if anyone is there before she starts to sing Ava Maria under a single spotlight. Outside, a homeless man stops in his tracks, crying from the beauty of her voice.
