Police have arrested Malcolm Crowell, 22, who is suspected of murdering two people early Sunday morning in Johnston, Rhode Island, and then kidnapping a 2-year-old boy. The child was not with Crowell and has not been found.

Crowell was captured Sunday around 12:30 p.m. in Fall River, just over the border of Massachusetts. He was located after police issued an Amber Alert for Isaih Perez, the child he had kidnapped.

Crowell allegedly murdered two victims in a Johnston home between 4:30-5 a.m. this morning, before fleeing the home with Isaih. The police responded to a call to the home at 5:20 a.m. and then issued the Amber Alert.

According to USA Today, Johnston is a small town of only 30,000 residents that is located 10 miles outside of Providence. The neighborhood is currently blocked off for investigators.

Police are not yet aware of the relationship between Crowell, the victims, and the baby, or the motive of the murder, but are still investigating. They are also trying to obtain a photograph of the child.

"We don't believe the child was harmed, and we're just hoping that he will be safely returned,“ said Johnston Deputy Police Chief Daniel Parrillo, The Associated Press reports. "We are starting to talk to family members right now to determine what the relationship with the boy is, but we have not pinpointed that. What he was doing there, we have no idea."
