Tameke Foster has opened up about the terrifying pool accident which almost took the life of her 5-year-old son, Usher Raymond V. In a new interview with Good Morning America, Tameka admits she does not blame ex-husband Usher for the accident.
According to People, Tameka spoke with GMA’s Dan Abrams where she explained that she does not blame the accident on Usher, but is mad that it happened while he was not at home.
“He doesn’t call me regularly, so when I saw his number come up I immediately jumped up, cause I figured he has the boys,” she explained. “I didn’t blame him for it. I just was angry that it happened on his watch. Because, while accidents happen, never have my children been injured on my watch.”
Tameka also notes that the accident brought up memories of her son Kyle, who died last year following a boating accident.
"I said, 'I've had this call before,' " she recalls.
Following the accident, Tameka demanded an emergency custody hearing in the hopes to obtain full custody of her two children, but was denied.
"I'd like to have my first right of refusal, which means when he is not present, the kids come home with their mom," she said.
"I had to find out on Instagram that he's lost his first tooth," she adds. “That’s my baby. Things that are precious moments, milestone moments, I’m just missing them.”
