It seems Taylor Swift is the go-to for reaction shots at award shows these days. We can certainly see why. She always seems to have an exuberant reaction, whether it’s having a conniption over the long awaited N-Sync reunion or cursing the success of one of her ex-flames.
At the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift was caught mouthing an expletive whilst seated next to best friend Selena Gomez (who also won herself a moon man). An awkward encounter was inevitable as Swift and international boy band One Direction were both scheduled to make appearances. Swift and 19-year-old Harry Styles had a brief romance last year that ended with bad relations.
The band won the VMA for Song of the Summer coincidentally titled “Best Song Ever.” According to the NY Daily News, Taylor mouthed the words “shut the f***up” as the boys accepted their award and thanked their fans.
The 23-year-old was a winner Sunday night as well. Swift was sincere to her beloved fans while accepting the award for Best Female Video saying, "I want to thank the fans. I tweeted about this a lot...thank you so much for doing this for me."
For “I Knew You Were Trouble,” Swift even thanked her inspiration. She gave a shout out to the person “who I wrote this song about cause you know who you are and now I have this award." It can’t be confirmed that the comment was aimed at Styles, but that didn’t stop MTV cameras from shooting right to the One Directioner who smiled and chewed his gum.
The Brit seems to be aware of his impression on Swift’s music, telling Us Weekly in a recent interview, “At least she's a great songwriter!"
