Ted Nugent’s wife, Shemane Deziel, was arrested at the Dallas Forth Worth International Airport Thursday for carrying a gun all the way to a terminal. More details of her arrest are coming out, showing that she said she had received death threats.

As we reported last night, an airport spokesman did confirm that Shemane, 51, was arrested at the airport. She was released after being questioned by officers.

CBS DFW reports that the gun, a Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver, was loaded. It was discovered at the bottom of her carry-on bag at a Transportation Security Administration checkpoint. There was also another 10 rounds of ammunition in the bag.

“I know what the problem is. I forgot the gun was in the bag,” she reportedly told officers when being questioned.

However, TMZ reports that after she was arrested, she mentioned that she started carrying the gun after receiving death threats. She didn’t go into detail on the threats.

She said that she does have a license to carry concealed weapons in Texas. Her husband is an outspoken advocate for guns and hunting and has criticized President Obama.

“She is very embarrassed. She’s never been in this situation before,” attorney David Finn told the Dallas Morning News. “She has expressed remorse for any inconvenience for any public safety officials.”
