Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer recently received the heartbreaking news that her 3-year-old daughter with ex-husband Corey Simms might leave her in a wheelchair for the rest of her life.

The young mom of three – she also has a daughter with new husband Jeremy Calvert – reportedly learned of the illness, which is “some sort of mitochondrial disease,” last month.

“This is why Leah and Jeremy have to move out of their new house. They need a house without stairs that’s more handicapped accessible for Ali. They are also planning on getting a place that allows horses because that will be part of Ali’s therapy,” a source told RadarOnline.

Messer has taken to Twitter to voice her anger and sadness about her daughter’s disease, and a source says “Ali has been doing therapy for a few years now and seemed to be improving, however, from what the doctor told the family at Ali’s big doctor appointment in July, her disorder will just keep getting worse. Apparently the muscles will start to deteriorate and she will most likely lose the ability to walk.”

She also retweeted a post from Ali’s grandpa:

Despite these obstacles, Messer seems to be keeping positive, writing, "My family is all that matters, they'll never stop believing in me."
