Alex Band, the lead singer of The Calling, was abducted from the street while walking in Michigan this weekend and beaten severely.

According to TMZ, Band was in Lapeer, MI for a music festival. The 32-year-old singer was walking from his hotel to a mini mart when the incident took place. Sources close to the situation stated that Band was taken by two men in a blue-colored minivan.

Band was robbed and beaten before his body was thrown on train tracks.

He was later found by a former band member who noticed he had been missing for quite some time. Band was taken to the emergency room and released shortly thereafter.

TMZ notes it is unclear exactly what taken from Band and what the extent of his injuries are.

Band has not commented on the situation.

Us Weekly reports that The Calling split in 2005 but reunited shortly thereafter. They are known for their hit song, “Wherever You Will Go.”
