Lauren Conrad comes back for one last scene on The Hills released as an alternate ending of the series.
Gawker reports that the network released a never-before-seen alternate ending in which Brody Jenner says good-bye to girlfriend Kristen Cavallari and comes home to Lauren Conrad with a huge grin on her face. This new scene comes three years after the show ended its six season run in 2010. The show has been syndicated as part of a "RetroMTV Brunch" programming block. In the original series finale, Brody says good-bye to Kristin and the camera zooms out to reveal a Hollywood production lot, alluding to the rumor that the entire series had been scripted.
The Hills creator Adam DiVello admitted on HuffingtonPost that he always favored the ending with Conrad in it. "I really liked the one with Lauren. It was her story that I started the show with and followed her with 'Laguna Beach. I always wanted to end it on her face and her being happy. I think that big smile across her face tells exactly how she’s feeling. I think it was just a nice way to end it with her saying 'Goodbye is hard to do.' But yeah, I was in favor of airing this one, but you don’t always have a say in what airs."
