Today, August 22nd, we gather to celebrate the birthday of funny lady, Kristen Wiig who is known for her roles on SNL and Bridesmaids.

In honor of her birthday here is the top ten quotes of Kristen Wiig.

10. “It's a mystery to me what makes people laugh” is a strange thing for a comedian to say. But then again, she must be doing something right.

9. “When you go out of your comfort zone and it works there's nothing more satisfying,” is great advice to give no matter what career you’re in. You won’t know what you can accomplish until you go out of your comfort zone.

8. “I do sort of gravitate towards smaller, indie-type movies.” It’s true, most of Wiig’s film are cult classics and not as main stream as other movies. Regardless, she is still entertaining a large set audience.

7. “I just want to try and be in projects that are exciting to me.” Spoken like a true actress. A movie isn’t worth doing, if you’re not interested. The same can be said about any job or project.

6. “I really, really want to go to Paris. I've never been.” Maybe she can get some insight into Paris from her co-star in Bridesmaids.

5. “It's fun for me to play people that are just kind of odd.” This statement is very true to the roles that she has played in the past. Nothing about being normal is funny.

4. “When you're on your deathbed, you probably aren't counting the movies you've made.” So my question is, what are they counting?

3. “Why can't there be a lot of great women who are doing great things?” There seems to be a rise in the amount of great women doing great things.

2. “I just always gravitate toward the kind of characters or people that maybe you don't want to talk to for a long time at a party, but you do like to watch what they're doing.” One big thing that sets Kristen apart from other actresses.

1. “I know from my own experience and from other people in the business that when you come from a place where nobody knew who you were and then there is this sudden shift to where everybody now knows who you are, there's an adjustment that you have to make.” This is such a huge adjustment for people in the entertainment business, but Wiig has done it with ease and grace.
