Jennifer Lawrence is a god in Hollywood. She’s funny, sarcastic, and gracious with the comments about her weight and she’s adorable. Today, August 15 also happens to be Ms. Lawrence’s birthday. So to say happy birthday to the budding actress, we’ve compiled a list of her top ten movie roles.
10. Not Another High School Show (TV Movie): Lawrence gives her all as the frantic girl in the film that makes fun of shows such as Laguna Beach and Dawson’s Creek.
9. Garden Party: Lawrence plays the role of Tiff, an out of place girl running with misfits.
8. The Poker House: Lawrence plays the role of Anges, about a young, wild girl in a small rural town.
7. The Burning Plain: Lawrence plays Mariana a girl who has discovered that her mother is having an affair.
6. The Beaver: Lawrence plays the role of Norah in a film where one husband uses a beaver puppet as his means of communicating.
5. Silver Linings Playbook: This is a wonderful example of the different roles that Lawrence can take on. She plays the role of quirky Tiffany that becomes an unlikely friend to Bradley Cooper’s character in the film.
4. X-Men: First Class: Lawrence plays Raven/Mystique in the X-Men adaption that takes place in the 1960’s.
3. House at the End of the Street: A darker movie that portrays Lawrence as the new girl on the block who happens to befriend the boy at the end of the block in a house that is anything but friendly.
2. Winter’s Bone: A sober film that portrays Lawrence as the one thing that is keeping her family together. When bail bond agents come to collect what’s theirs, Lawrence must fight for her family to find out what really happened to her father, so that that her family doesn’t get taken away from her.
1. Hunger Games: If you read the books, then you were just dying to see who would play Katniss. When Jennifer Lawrence was cast, most people were worrying about her credentials, but she proved her worthiness and awesomeness on scene.
With the next installment of the Hunger Games being filmed along with X-Men, viewers can’t wait to see what else Ms. Lawrence has in store for them.
