Traveling with a toddler in San Jose and Santa Cruz continues with a visit to Great America Theme Park in Santa Clara!
We also visited Great America Theme Park in Santa Clara. We spent most of our time at KidZville. There were some rides that we went on with our three year old but for the most part she rode on her own. She felt like such a big girl riding by herself. She even made friends with another little girl and they went on the rides together.
In addition to all the rides we went on we also saw a number of shows. We saw Happiness Is…Snoopy, an ice show with the Peanuts gang. The ice skaters were phenomenal. The costumes and the songs were very cute. Plus it was nice to be in the cool air conditioned theater in the heat of the day.
As we were walking around the park, we saw two different shows - Pop Fusion and On The Mic! Karaoke. It was great to be able to watch the shows as we were relaxing between rides.
I was very excited to see that they had lots of different kinds of food available in the park. There was even sushi and our three year old’s favorite food edamame. Of course, we had to try the garlic fries which were delicious.
All the grown ups around us were excited about the new roller coaster. We saw everyone having a blast on the new Gold Striker roller coaster. It looked like a lot of fun but definitely out of our league. They also had a water park in the theme park. They even have giant dryers that you walk into and get a full body blow dry so when you are done at the water park you can dry off quickly to enjoy the theme park.
How brilliant to get two parks for the price of one. Great America also had the great deal where the price difference between a day pass and a season pass is so small that it really pays to get a season pass. If you purchase your tickets online, in advance, you get a discount and won’t have to wait in a long line at the park.
