On this week’s episode of Twisted, they found the murder weapon, Jo lost her V-card, Rico admitted his feelings, Danny and Lacey broke up and… well, it was just action packed.
The episode began with sad Jo in her room. She was talking to her dad and bonding. It was sweet. We haven’t seen much of Kyle and Jo’s relationship the entire season and it was great seeing them talk it out. Kyle understood that Jo was upset about Danny getting expelled but he didn’t know about the video of Lacey and Danny that had gone viral.
Meanwhile at Danny’s, Karen is freaking out because of a meeting with Danny’s parole officer. Turns out, if Danny doesn’t get back in school then he will have to go back to jail. Karen says that she can’t afford private school so they aren’t sure what he is going to do. Danny offered to help out and get a job. Then they made some comment about how Vikram would joke about robbing a bank.
At school, Lacey has fallen from grace. No one wanted to hang out with the girl that hooked up with Danny. Lacey got a text from Danny and she ignored it. I know I was hard on her for hiding her relationship with Danny, but I get it now. Her life really did fall apart when everyone found out.
There was a Regina flashback where Lacey remembered hanging out with Regina and Regina saying that they would never hang out with Phoebe anymore. Regina had a scratch on her arm and she said that she got it in a fight with Phoebe.
Lacey then goes to Archie to apologize and he doesn’t take it well. I think his anger stems from jealousy. Danny is (probably) a better soccer player. He hooked up with Lacey. Or maybe he hates Danny because Danny is a murderer.
Archie mentions that there is a party for the soccer team but it is “private.”
At Jo’s place, Rico comes over because Jo skipped school. To cheer her up, he brought her homework. Hands down, Rico is my favorite. He is funny and awkward and the best. I mean, how can you not love how adorable he is?
Back at school, Danny is waiting at Lacey’s car. He tries to talk to her but she tells him off. He convinces her to go talk to Jo. So they do.
At the police station, Kyle is talking to the private investigator. She wants to go through the lake again. Kyle says that they need to look into the corporation and that they have gone through the lake too many times. The PI insists that they do it again.
Kyle’s assistant cop asks why he hasn’t told the PI that Danny’s mother was the one that threw the necklace and Kyle says that Danny and Karen already have enough on their plate. It is nice and all but I think that lying to the Mayor appointed PI is a bad cop moment for Kyle.
At Jo’s house, Danny and Lacey show up to get her to forgive them for not telling her that they were together. Jo takes her anger out on Danny because he keeps lying to her. She said that she was sick of his excuses and that she was mad. She then turned to Lacey and said that she was a hypocrite for not telling her.
Lacey then tries to defend herself by saying that she tried to keep the video from leaking. Lacey accidently outs Rico for hiding the video from Jo by saying that Rico knew first. Jo then takes her anger out on Rico and tells the all to leave.
To be honest, I was pretty much Team Jo on this one. The whole season was just Jo being lied to and that isn’t cool. Danny says that they are super close but, last time I checked, friends shouldn’t keep secrets from friends. Yeah, he is “protecting her” or whatever. Jo is a big girl. She can handle it.
Danny and Lacey have their romantic moment outside. He says that if she ever has any problems to call him. Rico is in front of them freaking out because Jo is mad at him and he forgot his backpack at her house.
At work, Karen asks for overtime to get more money. Her boss is creepy but gives her the overtime.
Back at Jo’s, Tess told Kyle about the video and they decide to go out as a family. They go see an old movie and run into Tyler. Tyler- the creepy film guy- meets Jo’s parents and is super sweet. He invites Jo back to his place to hang out with the film. Jo accepts.
Rico goes back to Jo’s to get his backpack and discovers that she isn’t there. He gets a pep talk from Kyle and Tess and decides to stay for dinner and wait for Jo.
Lacey and (evil) Sarita have a showdown. Lacey is mad that Sarita is mad. She said that Sarita said that they were best friends. Sarita pulled the Regina card. She said that Regina would be upset that Lacey hooked up with Danny. Lacey then gets a text from Danny to “say it like they rehearsed.”
With Jo and the film club, she’s super awkward and doesn’t know how to relate them. So she goes and flirts with Tyler. He asks if Jo has a thing with Danny (again; seriously, he’s already asked that in a previous episode) and Jo says she doesn’t.
At the party, Danny walks in to congratulate the team. Obviously, nobody wants to be his friend. Archie then says- you don’t want to make me angry again. You know what happens. Archie half-threatens him but Lacey says that she’ll shoo him.
She tells Danny that what they had was meaningless. She wished she never knew him and she wished he’d never come back. Even though Danny knew it was coming… ouch.
Danny leaves, everyone seems to accept Lacey more. Archie even comes over and comforts her. He even admits to her that he and Scott poisoned Cole to get Danny off the team.
At film club, Tyler and Jo almost have sex but she cuts him off. He tells her that she needs to fully let go of whatever is holding her back. Whatever, I am not a Tyler fan. At least three times in my notes, I wrote that Tyler was crazy. Maybe he’s crazy about Jo but something about him just doesn’t click with me.
Danny texts Cole to meet him in a creepy alley to talk about the fact that Archie probably poisoned him. Cole doesn’t know what to believe.
At the party, Cole arrives again and asks if Archie poisoned him. Archie says he didn’t. Lacey said Archie told her he did. She told Cole that Scott did too. Cole quits the team. At the same time, Lacey also tells off Sarita saying that it was low to pull the Regina card.
At work, Karen finds that her boss has been lying on his taxes so she blackmails him. Typical Karen. Is it just me or has there been a lot of blackmail this season?
Danny, after talking to Cole, meets Jo in the woods. Jo says that her feelings are hurt. She hates how he lies. She tells him that she likes him and that she can’t move on until he heard them. Danny said that he could never risk their friendship. She asked if Danny loved Lacey and Danny said that he and Lacey were over. However, it was pretty clear that he was still in love with Lacey. Jo left Danny in the woods.
To be completely honest, if I were Jo, I’d find new friends and forget about Danny. All he has done is lie to her and she continues to stand up for him. No way.
Meanwhile, one of the biggest (not) shockers of the episode is that the private investigator found the murder weapon in the lake. It matched the wound, had the same paint and had Danny’s fingerprints on it.
While, I’m sure you’re going to say that Danny was framed and that finding the evidence was too easy, whatever. Maybe you’ll blame the crooked mayor or the shady private investigator. I still think Danny killed Regina.
Kyle, showing his true colors as the worst cop/best friend ever, calls his wife to tell her about it. Again, I think what Kyle did is super nice for Danny and Karen but giving out that information is really, really, really bad. I’m afraid her may lose his job for doing that.
Turns out a season of Bad Cop Moments can catch up fast.
Jo, unaware of all of the murder weapon drama, goes back to Tyler’s house and kisses him. Then she gives him her V-card and tells him that it was her first everything. Tyler says he is honored. She leaves but doesn’t want him to see her get dressed.
Danny arrives home to find his mother packing. She says that they are running away. She suddenly has enough money and that there was nothing keeping them there. Danny is confused but runs to pack.
At Jo’s, Rico is still waiting for Jo to come home. When she does, Rico tells her that she is his dream girl. He says that he loves her. He even kisses her. Jo doesn’t respond. She basically rejects Rico and says that she doesn’t know what to say.
Meanwhile, Lacey is sitting like a sad puppy in her room. Phoebe comes in and offers a truce. Lacey then asks why Phoebe and Regina got into a fight that day. Phoebe said that she didn’t scratch Regina that someone in a car did.
Then there was a flashback of Regina getting out of a car with a license plate from Connecticut. Then it cut to the same license plate and the private investigator was driving the car!
Kyle and the private investigator knock on Karen’s door. The private investigator is firm and Kyle is trying to be nice. When they come in, they notice Karen’s packed bag and head upstairs to arrest Danny.
But, shocker! Danny fled from police!
As it was revealed that Danny fled, it showed Tess call a phone number on the bottom of a pot. She speaks in code into the phone then she says, “Vikram, it’s time to come back.”
This may be the unpopular opinion, but can I just say, this Twisted finale was not as shocking as it should have been. The “twisted truth” wasn’t even revealed until the last three seconds of the episode. And, who wasn’t thinking that Vikram was alive?
It was nice watching Twisted with you guys. I hope you enjoyed all of the recaps. Twisted will return in January with new episodes.
