Usher’s son, Usher Raymond V, has been released from an Atlanta hospital after spending eight days in the hospital following his near drowning last week.

A source close to the family tells People that little Usher "is going to be just fine," a source close to The Voicecoach tells PEOPLE. "Doctors were taking every precaution to make sure Cinco was okay, but the danger looks like it has passed."

Usher, 5, nearly drown on August 5 when he dove into the swimming pool to retrieve a toy from the drain. His arm got stuck in the drain, which did not have a seal on it at the time, and his aunt and maid jumped in to save him to avail. Two workers in the house were able to free the child and perform CPR until an ambulance arrived.

The terrifying pool accident created a war between Tameka Raymond, Usher’s ex-wife and The Voice coach. Tameka demanded an emergency hearing in the hopes to obtain full custody of her two children. In the end, a judge ruled in favor of Usher.

Tameka and Usher are slated to appear back in court August 27 for a previously scheduled court date.
