Valerie Harper, who is currently battling cancer, is currently working on a television movie that has already begun production in Vancouver. The film is titled The Town That Came A-Courtin’.

According to TheWrap, the film will co-star Lauren Holly, Cameron Bancroft and Lucie Guest.

It is based on the best-selling novel by Ronda Rich about a successful author (Holly) who is stuck in a remote cabin with a crazed fan. Harper is set to play the owner of a bed-and-breakfast in the nearby town. Bancroft plays the town’s widowed mayor, who the townspeople would like to see get together with the author.

The project is being produced by Odyssey Media and it will air on UP, a network that is specializing in family dramas with uplifting messages. E! News reports that the movie will air in January 2014.

Harper, 73, revealed to fans in March that she had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. The former Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rhoda star later filmed an episode of Hot In Cleveland with other Mary Tyler Moore veterans. NBC announced in June that it is planning on a special chronicling her life and career.
