Valerie Harper, the former Mary Tyler Moore Show actress who shocked fans earlier this year by announcing that she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, is reportedly doing ABC’s Dancing with the Stars this season.

TMZ is reporting that the actress was told that she would only live through June, but the 73-year-old is still doing well and possibly well enough to compete on DWTS. Harper has apparently been practicing with partner Tristan for two days and she’s performing well.

The site also reported today that actress Leah Remini wants to do DWTS as well. She was recently in the news because of her public departure from Scientology. TMZ has also claimed that Jersey Shore's Snooki, Elizabeth Berkley, Amber Riley (Glee) and Christina Milian will do DWTS.

Harper has continued to work despite the diagnosis, which was revealed in March. She recently agreed to do a made-for-TV movie for the UP cable network.

ABC usually announces DWTS casts on Good Morning America and with the fall season around the corner, the network will make the lineup official on Sept. 4.
