This week’s episode of Web Therapy, titled “Who Doesn’t Love Musicals,” starts with an uncomfortable exchange (wouldn’t be Web Therapy without it) between Fiona and Jackson. She thinks he stole her Rolex watch - and after his extensive wave of compliments and her thorough wave of backhanded compliments - she finds her watch next to her computer.
Fiona gets a call from Kip, her husband, whose political career has recently been destroyed by his new campaign manager and new boyfriend. Kip called to ask about using his and Fiona’s house for some time - and also to deal with some financial trouble the campaign had when she was involved. Fiona is surprised to hear about this - especially because she had little to do with the finances of the campaign. When Kip finally offers to help get her out of it, his boyfriend tells Fiona Kip wants a divorce.
Fiona calls Richard, the old campaign accountant, about the financial issues with her husband’s campaign. Richard assures Fiona that everything was shredded - then, while speaking to Fiona on his webcam, tells her “they” took his computer, with his “videos of people getting tazed,” “two girls one cup,” and his porn. Richard is obviously scared and he reassures Fiona there isn’t anything he can do. He accuses her of throwing him under the bus when he attempted to express his love months ago. Richard is of absolutely no help to Fiona, and Richard asks her to take him off his Skype list, but not before starting to get smitten with Fiona one last time.
Fiona’s next call is from Jerome, her previous assistant and current assistant to her mother, who stole the idea for Fiona’s therapy service over the Internet and called it Net Therapy. Now, he’s calling because he wasn’t satisfied with his life at Net Therapy, even though the company was becoming so popular they caught Google’s attention. Just after leaving the company, a large corporation out of Britain bought Net Therapy for double what they were offered elsewhere. Long story short, Jerome has called to beg for his old job back, and for a place to stay at Fiona’s while he works for her. Fiona agrees to hire him, but only if he steals all of her old patient files for her, and works minimum wage with no benefits.
Over drinks, Fiona and Franny hung out and discussed the upcoming musical Franny is writing, in which Fiona is the antagonist. The next day, Fiona calls Franny and asks about some songs she wrote the night before, which Fiona actually planted in Fiona’s apartment. Fiona manages to convince Franny that she has written the terrible songs about the musical’s antagonist. Franny comes to the realization that the songs were actually about Franny herself, not Fiona at all, which inspires her to change the direction of the musical for the good of women.
