The writers of AMC’s hit show Breaking Bad have revealed some of their plot ideas that didn’t make it into the show.
One such idea was a flash-forward scene in which Walt would drop a bloody box over the side of a boat. The writers nixed this idea because they never figured out where it would go. “At one point, we did talk about Walt having to bring a piece of Gus to prove that he’s been killed. It probably was Gus’ head,” producer Peter Gould said, according to inside tv.
Another rejected story idea was alternating the main plot with flashbacks to cowboys in the early 20th century. Gould said, “It was going to have all these weird tangential relationships…and it would all somehow in the end come together in the main story. Walt would have a showdown at the same spot where this other character had died at the end of those.” This idea was cut because “it never felt knitted together with the main story.”
Breaking Bad has not only a group of writers, but also consultants for the technical and scientific aspects of the show, according to fast co create. The team works together to decide what version ends up on our televisions.
