Were you not one of the 11.9 million people who tuned in to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on Tuesday night? Well, you’re in luck. ABC has announced that it will re-air the Joss Whedon-directed pilot on Thursday night.
The network stated that the episode will air again at 8 p.m. to kick off the night. It will be followed by the two-hour season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy.
As reported earlier today, S.H.I.E.L.D. attracted 11.9 million viewers and earned a 4.6 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, making it the top-rated drama premiere since 2009. However, the rest of the network’s all-new programming last night did not do as well, with comedies The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife and Lucky 7 not doing anywhere near as well. Lucky 7 attracted just 4.57 million viewers.
SHIELD stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge as members of the secret organization introduced in the Marvel films. It doesn’t feature superheroes, but the show’s success so far has proven that Marvel characters don’t need powers to draw an audience.
