ABC has renewed its summer primetime soap Mistresses for a second season. The series stars Alyssa Milano and is based on a British series.
Mistresses was one of two scripted hits for the broadcast networks this summer, behind CBS’ hit Under The Dome. That series was also renewed for a second season. TheWrap reports that Mistresses never attracted a huge audience, but its Sept. 9 finale scored a decent 3.0 18-49 rating and 3.91 million viewers.
Milano, a very active Twitter user, let her fans know that the show was picked up for another year. She also retweeted the show’s official Twitter page. “Happy to report that #mistresses was picked up for a second season. Thank you for all the love and support. I appreciate you,” she told her fans.
