Amanda Bynes may not be released from the California mental health facility until 2015.

Bynes' lawyer, Gerald Shargel, asked for a delay in her court case regarding allegedly tossing a bong out her window, TMZ reports.

The amount of time Shargel asked for the postponement was up to 18 months until she finishes her current treatment.

Sources tell the website though that the case is likely headed for a plea bargain, since supposedly there are issues with the prosecution's case.

Though any plea deal would require her to appear in court.

Shargel told New York Daily News that though the Easy A actress is still receiving treatment, "it doesn't meant there can't be a resolution on the case."

Bynes' lawyer said he hopes to have things "resolved" before her next court date on Dec. 5.

The case stems from May 23, when the troubled actress is being charged with reckless endangerment, marijuana possession and attempting to tamper with physical evidence.

As previously reported, Bynes' attorney for her DUI case wanted her declared mentally unfit to stand trial. That issue has been transferred to a mental health court to decide.
