It's no question that AMC's The Walking Dead is wildly successful and entertaining, but now AMC reports that a spinoff show is now in the works. This new show will be in the same universe, but with all new characters. There is no scheduled release date yet for the spinoff, other than it could land in 2015.

According to Slash Film the spinoff series will follow the ever popular line of comics that the Parent show is following, created by Robert Kirkman, who is also an executive producer of the show. This is some very big news for AMC, as some of its biggest shows are coming to an end. With Breaking Bad coming to its series finale, and Mad Men with one more season left, the network is going to need another batch of shows to keep them running.

With this being the second spinoff series AMC has announced in the past week, Better Call Saul being the first, expect the network to reach all new highs in viewers. According to IGN AMCs President, Charlie Collier said, "Building on the success of the most popular show on television for adults 18-49 is literally a no-brainer.” Expect to hear more about this spinoff series during season 4 of The Walking Dead premiering on AMC Sunday, October 13.
