Angelina Jolie arrived in Sydney, Australia this weekend to start production on Unbroken, her second film as director.
When Jolie was spotted in Sydney on Monday, she gave photographers their first look at a new tattoo on her arm, notes The Daily Mail. She has a new sentence in Arabic tattooed on her right arm, just below another tattoo of the Arabic word for determination. Her other tattoos include a Tennessee Williams quote in honor of her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, and the coordinates for the birthplaces of her children.
The Guardian notes that she has been in Sydney since last Friday. She must have decided to make the film there instead of Hawaii, where she scouted locations in July.
Jolie has been working on Unbroken since December, picking it as her follow-up to 2011’s In The Land of Blood And Honey. It is based on Laura Hillenbrand’s book about Olympian Louis Zamperini who worked in a Japanese prison camp after surviving a plane crash during World War II.
She tapped Jack O’Connell to play Zamperini. The actor appears in 300: Rise of an Empire.
The Australian paparazzi will not get to see Jolie and Pitt together. Pitt was in Toronto this weekend and is currently working on Fury.
