Matt Damon and Michael Douglas, who play lovers in HBO’s Behind the Candelabra, have been announced as presenters at this year’s Emmys.
The film itself has 15 nominations, but both actors have an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie nomination as well.
EW notes How I Met Your Mother’s Neil Patrick Harris is hosting the prestigious event, which will take place later this month, on Sept. 22.
Both Damon and Douglas have previously been nominated for Outstanding Guest Star in a Comedy Series; Damon in 2011 for 30 Rock and Douglas in 2002 for Will & Grace. Damon has also been nominated as a co-producer for Outstanding Non-Fiction Program (Project Greenlight) in 2002 and for the same show, Outstanding Reality Program in 2004 and 2005. Douglas has received Emmy nods for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for The Streets of San Francisco in 1974 and Outstanding Continuing Performance by a Supporting Actor, also for The Streets of San Francisco in 1975 and 1976.
The Telegraph reports that neither actor has been an Emmy presenter before.
Douglas played Liberace in the biopic, and Damon played his lover Scott Thorn.
