Benedict Cumberbatch will be honored by BAFTA Los Angeles with the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year.

This past summer, he played Capt. Kirk’s archrival in Star Trek Into Darkness. His film, The Fifth Estate, opened the Toronto Film Festival. Before the year ends, Cumberbatch will star in three more films, including The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

If his film resume wasn’t impressive enough, Cumberbatch will return to television screens in the coming months as the titular character in BBC’s Sherlock.

“Benedict Cumberbatch has had a remarkable year, and as one of the U.K.'s leading talents he truly exemplifies the continued respect that British talents have garnered around the globe,” Gary Dartnall, the Chairman of BAFTA Los Angeles, said in a statement on BAFTA’s webstite.

Amid his success, Cumberbatch will continue his movie making blitz. He’ll appear in three films in 2014, including a second Hobbit film. He already has two films slated for 2015, and according to TheWrap he’s in talks to star in the Brad Pitt produced film The Lost City of Z.

Along with Cumberbatch, George Clooney, Kathryn Bigelow, and Ben Kingsley will also receive honors during the ceremony. The Britannia Awards will air on BBC America Nov. 10.
