Awards season has started and so have the red carpet fashion statements. Here are the best and worst dressed of the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards.
Best Dressed
Kaley Cuoco stole the show, stunning and sexy in a maroon gown by Vera Wang. She looked nothing like girl next door Penny, her character on The Big Bang Theory, which was nominated for 3 Emmys including Outstanding Comedy Series.

Sofia Vergara also turned heads in a beautiful creation by Vera Wang. The red dress fit the Modern Family actress absolutely perfectly. And to top it all off? The Emmy nominee was decked out in $7 million worth of Lorraine Shwartz jewels.

Anna Faris proved that blondes really can pull off yellow in this Monique Lhuillier dress. Her bold choice lit up the red carpet.

Emilia Clarke, nominee for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role as Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones looked lovely in her custom-made pale blue Donna Karan Atelier dress. This romantic, delicate gown was an unexpected choice from the Mother of Dragons.

Cobie Smulders was lovely in her pale pink J Mendel gown. The How I Met Your Mother star looked like a princess (the Kate Middleton kind, not the poofy skirted Disney kind).

Worst Dressed
Ellen Burstyn may have won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for Political Animals, but this dress looks more suitable for a camel caravan in the desert than a Hollywood awards show.

Lena Dunham looked a mess in this floral disaster by Prada. Her garish eye makeup certainly doesn't help the outfit.

Heidi Klum's pomegranate Versace pick didn't do the supermodel justice. Her look was more reminiscent of a Vegas showgirl than an Emmy nominee. Tim Gunn should've given her some pointers.

Zosia Mamet's custom-made Honor dress has a lot of problems going on. It looks almost as if she wore a strapless black leather bra on top of her gown. And that neckline. Need I say more?
