Last night the Big Brother jury crowned Andy Herren as this season’s winner, awarding him $500,000. The runner up, GinaMarie Zimmerman, walked away with $50,000. The men and women in the jury were unaware of the controversy surrounding this season, especially those who lost their jobs. During their exit interviews CBS production informed the Big Brother season 15 of the severity of their remarks made this summer.
Zimmerman won part one of the HOH competitions, giving her a free ride to the third round. Herran beat out Spencer Clawson in round two and ultimately won the final HOH competition. Herran opted to bring Zimmerman to the end with him, evicting Clawson, a notable “floater.”
The jury members: Jessie, Helen, Elissa, Candice, Aaryn, McCrae, Amanda, Judd and Spencer ultimately voted Herran as the winner of the BB 15 with a 7-2 vote, E! News reports.
After crowning Herren, host Julie Chen announced that America has choice Elissa Slater their favorite houseguest.
This season is the most talked about group which saw a 500% increasing following the controversey surrounding this season’s group of players. A series of racist, homophobic and sexist remarks were predominate as well as a variety of issues of bullying.
Both Aaryn Gries and Zimmerman were released from the positions after their employers caught wind of their actions.
According to LA Times, in their exit interviews Amanda Zuckerman expressed, “I am really sorry for anything I may have said that offended anybody…There was never any malicious intent by me or anybody else." Zuckerman famously bullied Slater after she caught wind that she wanted her out of the house.
Gries, who was the most frequent houseguest to drop racial and homophobic slurs, expressed, “This has been a great learning experience for me. I have really grown a lot."
"I do apologize,” Zimmerman said. “That's not me. Sometimes things were said out of anger. I'm Italian, and I have a big heart. I'm used to being around a lot of different races."
