Bill Nye suffered a partially torn ligament in the left knee while on Dancing With the Stars.
Nearing the end of his paso doble dance with Tyne Stecklein, the 57-year-old tripped and injured himself, though at the time it was thought to be less serious, USA Today reports.
Following his DWtS' routine, Nye was taken to the hospital to seek medical attention.
According to CBS News, Nye later posted a photo of his knee all wrapped up on Instagram with the message,
"Here is the scoop: partially torn ligament. Await the doc's orders with Tyne. We plan to dance! Stand by..."
Nye and Tyne's routine earned them only 17 out of 30 possible points from the judges during Monday night's episode.
Nye isn't the first dancer to get injured on the ABC show. Misty May-Treanor torn her Achilles tendon while rehearsing and had to pull out of the show. Melissa Gilbert gave herself a mild concussion and whiplash while doing the paso doble in the previous season.
