Earlier this week, Bruce Jenner was seen with large bandages covering his nose. Now, it has been revealed that the bandages are covering up stitches the former Olympian received in a surgery for skin cancer removal.
According to TMZ, Jenner lost a chunk of tissue from his nose on Monday. Doctors had to sew the affected area back together using 30 stitches.
Doctors say the skin cancer was caused by sun damage. The athlete is no stranger to the sun, as one of his favorite hobbies is playing golf. He had the same surgery done last year to the side of his face to remove more cancerous tissue. Both surgeries were allegedly voluntary.
The Daily Mail reports that Jenner is used to having work done on his face. In 2009, he had got a facelift to fix a plastic surgery job he got in the 1980s.
Jenner, 62, is recovering well, but will most likely have a nice battle scar on his nose.
