The Los Angeles Dodgers sit out outfielders Yasiel Puig and Carl Crawford due to injuries for their game against the San Francisco Giants Sunday.
Puig has been having recent issues with his hip, which is the reason he is sitting out this game. According to ESPN, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly says the timetable for Puig's return is unclear. Mattingly said it could be anywhere from one day to two weeks.
"I'm thinking somewhere between seven and 10 days for him, hopefully, maybe two or three weeks, I don't know," Mattingly said. "Or, it could be tomorrow. I'm not sure."
As for Carl Crawford, TrueblueLA.com reports that he has been nursing a sore back for some time now. He left Saturday night's game in the third inning, followed by Puig's departure from the game in the fifth. The two outfielders join their fellow injured teammates Hanley Ramirez (irritated nerve in his back) and Andre Ethier (ankle) on the bench.
The Dodgers will go on to try and clinch the NL West without these huge pieces to their lineup for an unkown amount of time.
