Carson Daly has been announced as the newest member of NBC’s Today Show team. The announcement comes after the Voice host has made several appearances filling in for various anchors.
Matt Lauer said on Thursday Daily is "officially now joining our family.”
USA Today notes he appeared with Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Natalie Morales, Hoda Kotb, Willie Geist and Kathie Lee Gifford on a couch, joking, "This feels like an intervention."
Daly is currently hosting The Voice and his late night show The Voice and Last Call with Carson Daly, and he claims although “people associate me with nighttime, but I'm really a morning person.”

Today.com reveals Daily’s role will be host of the new Orange Room, where he will host a segment that allows viewers to weigh in on various Today segments. As host, he will also give viewers even more access into the Today Show family.
“I’m really excited to meet TODAY viewers – I want them to tweet at me and to look at the Orange Room as their room; I want to be their host,” he said.
