Viewers will be seeing a lot more of Carson Daly throughout the day. On Thursday, Matt Lauer announced that the long running host will officially be joining the Today show team.

USA Today reports that Daly, who hosts The Voice, released a statement following the announcement of his new position saying, “This feel likes a new era of Today," noting that he would be implementing a new area called "The Orange Room," a social media area where viewers can connect with him on a variety of issued. “The Orange Room” is noted to be like a back stage pass to the Today crew, Today reports.

“I’m really excited to meet TODAY viewers – I want them to tweet at me and to look at the Orange Room as their room; I want to be their host,” Daly said.

Lauer was greeted by fellow Today co-hosts Samantha Guthrie, Al Rooker, Hoda Kotb, Willie Geist, Kathie Lee Gifford and Lauer, who all sat one on coach together. Daly quipped, “This feels like an intervention.”

"I just want to say how grateful I am. This is your family and for you guys to open it up to me, thank you so much."

Daly did not mention if he will still host his late night show, Last Night with Carson Daly.
