Chris Brown is known for his bad boy image ever since he admitted to assaulting Rihanna in February 2009. But the singer-turned-actor is opening up to Jet Magazine about struggling with his past and the double standard between himself and Jay-Z.
That’s right, the 24-year-old is now dissing hip-hop mogul Jay-Z. According to E! Online, Brown references Jay-Z’s history with dealing crack cocaine, which he’s admitted to via his music. He also points out the rapper’s run in with the law in 2001 when he admitted to stabbing record executive Lance “Un” Rivera for bootlegging Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter.
Brown told the mag “No disrespect, because I’m a huge fan, but nobody brings up the fact that he stabbed somebody and sold drugs. He gets a pass.”
USA Today reports that the “Run It” singer speaks out about his anger management problems saying, “You have to go through the struggle before you can get to the good part. I don’t try to lash out at people, or be as mad or impulsive as I used to be.”
He continues, “I got to the point where it’s only so much you can take from the master, you feel me? I’ve taken my fair share of lashings.”
