Christina Aguilera has earned a coveted slot on the soundtrack for The Hunger Games series latest film, Catching Fire.
According to E! Online, the Voice coach announced the news on Twitter Wednesday, September 25th.
“Love the underlying message of @TheHungerGames,” she tweeted. “’We Remain’ is a special new song, its message to my fans & how I connect w/ the movie, alike.”
Fans responded positively to the news on several social media outlets. Xtina’s tweet was retweeted several thousand times and one fan wrote, “@xtina I can’t wait to hear it! I know it’ll be extraordinary. Xo.”
Entertainment Weekly reports that the first single announced for the soundtrack was Coldplay’s “Atlas.” The band debuted their song by releasing an elaborate lyric video.
The full tracklisting includes songs from the Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men, Lorde, The Weeknd, Imagine Dragons, and Ellie Goulding.
‘Catching Fire’ opens in theaters on November 22nd, and the soundtrack will be release digitally on November 19th.
