The cast of Rookie Blue has welcomed actor Clé Bennett into their midst, as he's taken on the role of Officer Wesley Cole, former partner of Chloe Price (Priscilla Faia), as well as her husband, to the surprise of Chloe's current beau Dove Epstein (Gregory Smith).

According to a recently distributed press release, Bennett will be part of a plotline that began in the September 5 episode and will continue into the fifth season.

The actor brings with him an impressive and versatile resume, including roles in Canadian shows such as Guns, The Line, and the revered show Flashpoint, in which his portrayal of Rafik Rousseau, a member of Strategic Response Unit Team One, earned him an ACTRA award nomination.

Bennett also directed a short called Bar None, appeared on stage in Soulpepper Production Kim's Convenience, and worked alongside Paul Giamatti and Dustin Hoffman in the film Barney's Version.

The two-time Gemini Award winning actor recently guest starred as a murderous gang lord in the CW's Arrow, and he is currently shooting Murdoch Mysteries for the CBC.

In the September 5 Rookie Blue episode, Wesley's revelations of his intentions to reunite with Chloe when she's recovered, to which Dove doesn't respond, left fans wondering how his appearance will affect Dove and Chloe's relationship.

Whatever the future holds for Bennett's character, according to the press release, fans will "get the very best the actor has to offer."
