Here’s our daily wrap of all things for Tuesday September 3rd:

Fox has finally announced the new judges for the next season of American Idol. Keith Urban will be joined by Jennifer Lopez, who had judged on the show for two seasons, and Harry Connick Jr. Randy Jackson will also be returning to the show even though he said he would be leaving the show, but he has decided to take on the role of a mentor for the upcoming season. American Idol’s new season starts in January.

21-year-old Kate Upton has been named 2013’s Model of the Year. Upton will be presented the award on Wednesday at the Lincoln Center in New York City. The event will be hosted by Nicole Richie and will be recorded by CNN. The network will air the event on September 14th. Upton was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, as well as on the cover of Vogue. She was also casted in two movies, The Three Stooges and The Other Woman.

Fifty Shades of Grey author E.L. James has announced the actors playing the lead roles in the movie adaption. Anastasia Steele will be played by 23-year-old Dakota Johnson and the role of Christian Grey will be played by 33-year-old Charlie Hunnam. Fans are not impressed by the choices made, having hoped for actors like Matt Bomer or Ian Somerhalder to play the part of the handsome Christian Grey. However, film producer Dana Brunietti defended the casting choices on Twitter saying, “There’s a lot that goes into casting.”

Love is in the air for Katie Couric who got engaged to her boyfriend, John Molner. Molner popped the question to Couric over the weekend during a sunset in East Hampton. The couple has been dating for two years but did not make their relationship public until the spring of 2012. This will be Couric’s second marriage. Her first husband, Jay Monahan, passed away in 1998 from colon cancer.
