David Frost has died at the age of 74 on Saturday, August 31, by a heart attack on a cruise ship. He was a veteran broadcaster and writer.
He spent his career in the arts of comedy writing, journalism, and daytime television presenting, including the Frost Report. Frost will be most remembered internationally for revealing interviews of former US President Richard Nixon, according to CNN . His interviewers with Nixon and the story behind the interviewers were the focus in the play and film “Frost/Nixon.”
"His family are devastated and ask for privacy at this difficult time. A family funeral will be held in the near future and details of a memorial service will be announced in due course," said a statement according to BBC News .
The British Prime Minister David Cameron paid tribute to Frost in a tweet on Sunday, September 1, and said, “My heart goes out to David Frost's family. He could be - and certainly was with me - both a friend and a fearsome interviewer.”
