New reports say that Alabama quarterback, AJ McCarron, and his beauty queen girlfriend, Katherine Webb have broken up.
Katherine’s mother, Leslie Webb, told Radar Online that, “Yes,” the couple had split, and “Katherine’s just trying to stay real busy.”
Webb first garnered media attention when an ESPN commentator pointed her out during the broadcast of McCarron’s BCS championship game in January. The former Miss Alabama soon appeared as a contestant on the reality show competition Splash and modeled in the most recent Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
This report isn’t the first time the couple has dealt with breakup rumors. Radar Online reported that McCarron shared a night with a lingerie model in June, while Webb was at the Spike TV Awards. Webb then walked the red carpet alone at the ESPY Awards in July, causing further speculation that the pair’s relationship was in trouble.
Representatives of the couple shot down the rumors stating, “AJ and Katherine have not broken up,” USA Today reports. Webb is busy working on her modeling career, and McCarron is currently leading the number one ranked college football team.
On Friday, Webb addressed the rumors by tweeting “Don’t believe everything you hear...smh.”
