Elisabeth Hasselbeck feels more at home on Fox news program Fox & Friends even before she started working there.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck joins Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade on the morning show Fox & Friends on Monday after Former Miss America, Gretchen Carlson's exit on Friday. Carlson will receive her own show on Fox's afternoon lineup.
“I’d almost make the analogy that it’s being called up to play for one of your favorite teams in the major leagues,” Hasselbeck tells The Washington Post.
Fox & Friends gets great viewership even though it makes about a quarter of the ratings that front-runner Good Morning America receives. According to the Neilson Company, Fox & Friends averages about 1.1 million viewers a day.
Hasselbeck's conservative viewpoints and controversial arguments with co-workers Joy Behar and Whoopie Goldberg left her feeling alone on The View. In an interview with TV Guide, Hasselbeck avoided questions about her departure on leaving the view.
"I really have no comment," Hasselbeck said. "There's a lot of misinformation out there so there will be a ton of reasons why or why not, or did she or didn't she, and that's all rear view mirror."
"She's very smart," Bill Shine, FOX News Executive, said. "She's a great on-air talent, a great personality and I think that will do very well for her in the morning."
Fox & Friends airs 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Eastern.
