Ellen Pompeo is not happy about the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards and she’s speaking out about it.
According to the Los Angeles Times the actress candidly spoke to the Associated Press on Monday and revealed why she was “really disappointed” in the show.
The actress, who portrays Dr. Meredith Grey in Grey’s Anatomy, slammed the Emmys particularly for the dance number showing off choreographic skills.
“I didn’t see any diversity in the Emmys at all,” she said. “The Emmys felt so dated to me…That dance number was embarrassing. Did you see one person of color in that dance number?”
E! Online reports that the Grey’s Anatomy starlet had nothing but praises to say about her own show.
“I’m extremely proud of our very, very diverse cast which represents the world I walk around in any day,” she said.
Although Pompeo has never been nominated for an Emmy herself, Grey’s Anatomy has won five Emmys.
