Sir Elton John is set to perform at the Emmys where he will pay tribute to Liberace.

E! News confirms that the 66-year-old “Your Song” singer will perform at the September 22 event where Liberace’s biopic, Behind the Candelabra is nominated for 15 awards. The HBO film stars Michael Douglas as Liberace and Matt Damon as his young lover.

This will be John’s first time ever performing at the Emmys.

In July Neil Patrick Harris announced the nominations, showing American Horror Story in the lead with 17 nominations, Game of Thrones with 16, 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live both have 15 nominations.

E! notes that Justin Timberlake is nominated for an award for his time as host and performer.

Kerry Washington, Diahann Carroll, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, sisters Zooey andEmily Deschanel, Allison Janney and Anna Faris are set to present while Harris will return as host.

Following his performance, John will prep for the release of his first studio album in seven years, The Diving Board available on Sept. 24.
