Hard Rock International has chosen Hayley Williams of alternative-rock band Paramore to be the "Artist Ambassador" of this year's PINKTOBER campaign. PINKTOBER will take over all 174 Hard Rock locations next month with everything from special performances to limited edition pink cocktails in order to raise money to fight Breast Cancer.
Williams, quoted by looktothestars.org (a website for celebrity philanthropy), expressed her enthusiasm towards the project. “Millions are affected by breast cancer and Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER campaign is a great way to help raise global awareness, educate fans and support a cause that affects millions of people. I look forward to joining Hard Rock International for this empowering and high-energy program.” She will be participating in the project by way of memorabilia donations, special appearances during Paramore's “The Self-Titled Tour” (kicking off in Seattle Oct. 15) and presentations of raised funds on Hard Rock's behalf.
During the project, Hard Rock sponsors many cancer-related charities all over the world, including The Caron Keating Foundation in the U.K., Ligue Contre le Cancer in France, and the National Breast Cancer Foundation in the U.S., to name just a few. "Every year, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is inspired by our partnership with Hard Rock International. Not only does Hard Rock continue to get more and more creative with its PINKTOBER program each year, but more importantly, it mobilizes the rock and roll community and its patrons from around the world to join the fight against breast cancer. Together, with partners like Hard Rock and its guests, we will have an enormous impact on the lives of millions of women worldwide," explains Myra Biblowit, president and CEO of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
During PINKTOBER, Hard Rock is going pink in every way possible. You can already purchase PINKTOBER merchandise, including t-shirts, candles, tote bags, collectible pins and more, on Hard Rock's website. If you're staying at a Hard Rock Hotel, participate in the "Get into Bed for the Cause" campaign by requesting a "Pink Sheets Room." Hard Rock will donate 25 percent of revenue from these rooms to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) and select local charities worldwide.
