The HBO miniseries True Detective starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey has released a full trailer.
The trailer was released during Sunday's season premiere of Boardwalk Empire, The Hollywood Reporter notes.
The eight episode series stars Harrelson and McConaughey as detectives Martin Hart and Rust Cohle who get involved in a search for a serial killer in Louisiana. The series takes place over 17 years as the hunt continues for the killer.
The show is set to follow a similar style as FX's American Horror Story where each season follows a new story and cast.
According to The Huffington Post, Michelle Monaghan and Elizabeth Reaser also star.
This is McConaughey's first regular series commitment and marks a return for Harrelson to TV. He played Woody Boyd on Cheers and was also in the HBO movie Game Change.
True Detectives continues McConaughey's renaissance over the last few years as he has worked on shedding his "pretty boy" image to one of a more serious actor. Movies like Lincoln Lawyer, this year's Mud and the upcoming The Dallas Buyers Club show his willingness to change perceptions.
The series premiers in January 2014.
