The Jacksonville Jaguars stink and the people who live in the city know that, so many of them don't go to the games. Will they go to the games if the team offers free beer? Management is about to find out on Sunday.
On Thursday, the team sent out a tweet telling fans that if you bought tickets within three hours of that tweet, you would get free beer with your purchase. The tickets cost $45 a piece and the promotion lasted until noon, notes Bloomberg.
“The response on this was OK,” team spokesman Dan Edwards said, but he wouldn’t reveal how many tickets were sold during the promotion. He did add that they are not afraid of any alcohol-related issues at the stadium.
Next 3 hrs only! #DrinksOnUs for #INDvsJAX from @BudLight (starts @ $45/ticket, 21+for beer). 2 free drinks w/ticket: http://t.co/swklpUJOrY

“The servers are properly trained to serve responsibly,” Edwards said. “People can always buy beer at the game anyways.”
Beer averages $7 at the stadium and the NFL did not have to approve the deal, since it was only a local promotion.
As Yahoo Sports notes, the Jaguars are already 0-3 this season. They are so bad that a small group of fans have tried to convince the owners to sign Tim Tebow, but it didn't work. The team’s starting quarterback is still Blaine Gabbert.
The team has scored just 28 points through three games and plays the Indianapolis Colts - a division rival - on Sunday. They rank 30 out of 32 in home attendance.
