Troubled Teen Mom star, Amber Portwood, will reportedly get released from jail early. The reality star and mom to now 4-year-old Leah with ex Gary Shirley will leave Indiana's Rockville Correctional Facility almost four years before her scheduled release date.

Portwood started her 5-year sentence in June 2012 and her brother, Shawn Portwood, is the one who made it public she will be released.

Shawn tweeted on Tuesday, “Congratulations sis. I am so happy that you are finally being released. You did everything you needed to do to get out long before 5 years.” When a follower asked if she was getting released that day, he said “Not today but fairly soon.”

Amber chose to carry out a 5-year sentence behind bars instead of completing a court-mandated rehab program.

She said at the time she wanted “to do my time and get it over with.”

"In my situation, I felt in the program there were a lot of eyes on me," she told ABC News at the time. "And it was very uncomfortable. I was not using my anti-psych medication, even. I was very depressed, all alone, all bitter at everyone. I felt like that wasn't the life I wanted to live.”

Shawn continued to talk about his sister’s release, saying she wanted it to be kept a secret.

Shirley hasn't mentioned anything about Amber's release on Twitter, but did post a picture of their daughter Leah yesterday:
