ABC Family may be getting into the horror genre and no actress is a better pick to headline the project than Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis. She is attached to star in a project from Halloween H2O director Steve Miner, and writer Jeff Dixon.
According to Deadline, the project, currently titled The Final Girls has not been greenlit by the network, but ABC Family is putting it on a fast track. The series would star Curtis as a woman who gathers young girls with their own horror experiences. She hopes that they use what they have learned to help the greater good.
Entertainment Weekly notes that ABC Family only closed a deal for the script. If a pilot order is put in, Miner would direct and executive produce. Dixon wrote the pilot.
Miner also directed Curtis in Forever Young. He has been a favorite director for ABC Family, having done the pilots for Make It Or Break It and Switched at Birth.
This would be Curtis’ first regular series gig since Anything But Love in 1989, although she recently did a stint on CBS’ NCIS.
