Jay Z has struck up a deal with high-end retailer Barney’s to create a holiday gallery this season. Designers like Lanvin, Balenciaga and more will be featured, with some of the proceeds going to the Shawn Carter Foundation.
The Magna Carta Holy Grail rapper’s holiday space will feature limited-edition designs only in black, white, gold and silver, inspired by “the slickness, energy, and innovation of New York City,” he told WWD.
Artist Joanie Lemercier will design the gallery space as well as the windows of Barney’s New York’s flagship store, TIME reports.
The collaboration is called 'A New York Holiday' and will not only be offered in New York, but also in Beverly Hills, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for stores titled BNY SCC Gallery, or Barneys New York, Shawn Corey Carter.
Other desirable brands involved in the project are Moncler, Proenza Schouler, Balmain, Alexander Wang and Alexander Stutterheim. The cheapest item in the gallery is a $70 cotton T-shirt.
